3-day Ongoing Teacher Training immersion
at Bore Place, Kent, UK
25–27 November 2016

with Francoise Freedman, Simon Low and Eija Tervonen

We are pleased to announce details of a 3-day Ongoing Teacher Training immersion at our UK training venue Bore Place in Kent, UK.  This immersion with Francoise Freedman, Simon Low and Eija Tervonen will give you 20 hours of continuing professional development, which can also be collected towards The Yoga Academy’s 500-hour certification.

On this immersion, our aim is to offer students enhanced embodied experience in Yin and Yang Yoga. We will be zooming the lens into micro-movements in key areas of the body and offer students dedicated asana clinics in selected yin and yang asaana.

Designed to be highly practical, with some supported lectures, this immersion encourages personal enquiry and heightened sensory awareness towards improved health and healing.

Francoise FreedmanFrancoise will be guiding students into the micro-movements of the pelvic and lumbar areas. These movements are taken from classic yoga asana within the general somatics framework. The sessions will include exploration of anatomy images, visualisations and experiential anatomy to illustrate the movements. Francoise Freedman is Founder and Director of Birthlight and a medical anthropologist at the University of Cambridge.

Eija TervonenEija will be leading sessions in somatic awareness, zooming into the spine, the central axis of the body, and the connections of the limbs to the axis. Particular focus will be in the micro-movements of shoulder, neck and upper back regions

Simon LowSimon will be leading asana clinics in selected key Yin and Yang Yoga asana and vinyasa. The focus will be on relevant alignment considerations based on biomechanics and kinesiology as well as therapeutic modifications and teaching 1:1. Simon will also share teachings from his studies in yoga’s philosophical texts and contemporary psychology.

All of the sessions over the three days will have inter-linked information and common strategies for the teaching and practice of yoga.
