The Yoga Academy is delighted to offer a two-part Perinatal course (yoga for pregnancy, birth and the early postnatal period) as part of its on-going teacher training program.   The six day course will be delivered by Francoise Freedman, whose reputation internationally for ‘teaching the teachers’ in subjects of pregnancy and women’s wellbeing is second to none.

If you have ever wished to inspire students to get the most of their yoga experience in pregnancy, or simply be confident in incorporating pregnant students into your classes, this six day class will provide you with all the information you need and more.

The course is taught with relevant anatomy and physiology of pregnancy and labour, the physiological changes and appropriate yoga modifications for each of the trimesters of pregnancy, preparation for delivery, and post partum repair.  It incorporates flowing movements and progressive elements to meet an expectant mother’s needs to facilitate a joyful pregnancy and straight forward birth.   Physical, emotional and spiritual changes are explored using the principles and teaching of yoga.
